Here's how much McDonald's brings to the Ipswich economy each year

McDonald's generates more than £9.1 million for the Ipswich area each year according to a new report published to celebrate 45 years in the UK.

The report shows that McDonald's directly contributed £7.6 million to the Ipswich economy and employed 470 people in 2017.

The £9.1 million figure is measured by Gross Value Added (GVA). This includes companies that supply goods and services to McDonald’s that would not exist without the fast food giant.

McDonald's first opened in the UK in 1974 and operates a number of franchises in Ipswich including Cardinal Park, Ranelagh Road and White House Industrial Estate.
